Jill was the most supportive and astute mentor I could have asked for as a new, young Head of Department. She was able to offer guidance without making me feel foolish, a rare quality indeed. We spent many hours laughing as she always saw the funny side, especially when others took themselves too seriously. Throughout my career, whenever things were tough, I would think about what Jill would have advised. She was a truly inspirational lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
